For each day, we are providing a reading activity, maths activity and an activity from the wider curriculum for children to complete. We have split it into a suggested 2 days, but please feel free to complete it as you wish over the time. . Children should have a copy of all the sheets in their book bag, but they are also downloadable at the bottom of this page.

    Wednesday

    Reading:

    • Your child should have 2 reading books in their bag. Your child should read one of these books to you.

    Maths:

    • Complete double sided Maths sheet - Exploring Patterns/Adding More. Your child will need some help to read the questions but please encourage them to do the maths as independently as possible. You could use resources to help you (e.g. small objects like Lego pieces).

    • You will need: A range of containers (for example: ice cream containers, small pots or bowls, tin foil boats, flat trays, cardboard boxes, Tupperware or containers – try to choose things that will float or move in different ways)

    1. Fill a bath, sink, paddling pool or water tray with water.

    2. Ask your child to come and explore the different containers through play to investigate how the shape and structure of the containers affects the way they move in water. Encourage them to think about:

      – if the container is waterproof.
      – if it floats well.
      – if it is able to carry cargo or passengers (e.g. small world figures).
