This term in Art, we are experimenting with collage. We would be grateful for any donations of mixed media resources for us to use, such as feathers, string, different types of paper, or unwanted picture books and magazines to cut up. We will be making our collages next week, so any donations by Monday would be greatly appreciated.
Spelling:
Spelling is a real focus at this point in the year in Year 2. Please support your child at home by helping them to practise the spelling rules listed below.

We will be using our assessment of the children’s writing in Term 4 to continue to fill any identified gaps. We are focusing on editing writing to ensure words and spelt correctly, punctuation is used effectively and sentences make sense.

In maths, we are continuing our learning about fractions. This week we are focusing on:
-Recognising what is, and what is not, third of a shape or number.
-Finding the whole if we are given a quarter, half or a third.
-Recognising what a unit and non-unit fraction is.

-Understanding what the numerator and denominator mean in a non-unit fraction.
