Reading

We will begin a new class text called There’s a Rang-Tan in My Bedroom.

When a little girl discovers a mischievous orangutan on the loose in her bedroom, she can't understand why it keeps shouting OOO! at her shampoo and her chocolate. But when Rang-tan explains that there are humans running wild in her rainforest, burning down trees so they can grow palm oil to put in products, the little girl knows what she has to do: help save the orangutans!

Writing
We will be continuing our unit on recounts. The children will practise putting events in the order they happened and use photographs and time words to help them share their recount clearly. They will be re-reading their writing to check for sense, punctuation and spelling.

Maths

This week we will be fractions focusing on doubling and halving as inverse operations as well as how to half and quarter quantities, by linking it back to our sharing.  We will be problem solving using the knowledge that we have learnt this term.
