Term 6, Week 1

Key dates 

  • Lunches - Please make sure you tell your child in the morning what you have ordered them for lunch. 

  • In Term 6, we are hoping that we will be able to do PE outside. If you haven't already, please make sure your child has appropriate footwear in their PE bag. The children can wear their school shoes if they are trainer-like. Please make sure children have socks too.

  • Monday 1st June - Term 6 starts

  • Friday 5th June - Class photo day

  • Wednesday 17th June - Sports day/morning. Parents invited to watch

  • Monday 29th June - Inset day. School closed for children

Tapestry observation 

The focus this week is speaking and understanding. This week, we would like your child to think of a joke to tell the class. You can send it in via text on Tapestry or they can write it down or just remember it!

You can also send us any moments that you feel are significant in your child’s learning or want to share with your child’s class teachers. Click the links below to find out how to add observations from different devices.

Book:

Winnie the Pooh Helps the Bees!

Vocabulary focus:

  • frowned, relieved, hive, pollen, nectar, honeycomb, colony, threatened 

At the end of the week, children will know:

  • what bees need to be happy 

  •  how to help bees 

  • why bees are important. 

At the end of the week, children will be able to:

  • recall simple facts about bees 

  •  re-tell the story using some of the vocabulary they have learnt 

  • explain what bees need.
