Key dates 

  • Monday 29th June - Inset day. School closed for children

  • Thursday 2nd June - Buttercup school trip (revised date). 

  • Thursday 9th July - Open classrooms. This is a chance for you to look at the writing your child has done this year and visit their new classroom with them after school.

  • Wednesday 22nd July - Last day of Reception

  • Thursday 23rd July - First day of the summer holiday

  • Thursday 3rd September - Inset day.  School closed for children

  • Friday 4th September - Inset day.  School closed for children

  • Monday 7th September - Start of Year 1

If you didn’t get a chance to complete the ‘home learning’ DT lesson, please complete that and add photos to Tapestry.

The objectives below will be covered over the four ‘Structured Story Times’ this week and next week. 

 

Book:

Wonderful World of Things That Go by William Bee

Vocabulary focus:

useful, fuel, soot, perfect, amphibious, crane, rescue, spare, vehicle

At the end of the week, children will know:

  • the names and uses of a range of different trucks
  • that trucks play an important job in the world
  • some of the dangers that trucks can present. 

At the end of the week, children will be able to:

  • explain the different uses of different trucks
  • describe a range of different trucks
  • ddiscuss why trucks are important and helpful to humans and how they can also cause problems
