Key messages

• Each day your child should bring to school (please name all belongings!):
  • Book bag which includes their reading book, reading record, reading bookmark, library book and reading for pleasure book. 
  • A bottle of water.
  • Appropriate clothing for the weather e.g. sunhat/ rain jacket. Please ensure coats are in school even in the warmer weather as we will aim to get out even in the rain.
• PE kits: Please send a PE kit into school to stay on their peg (we will send home half termly to wash and please then return the next term). PE kit is white t-shirt and black/navy shorts. No shoes needed until summer term. Again please name everything!

Learning at home

Daily reading: As with previous year groups, please hear your child read daily at home. Ask lots of questions during this time to support their comprehension and try and think to about which words may be new vocabulary to them and need explaining.
