    Writing

We will continue our unit of work on creating non-chronological reports about Mae Jemison.

We will use coordinating and subordinating conjunctions to write sentences about Mae Jemison to prepare to write our non-chronological reports.

Coordinating conjunctions include: and, but, or

Subordinating conjunctions include: because, that, if, when

We will then move onto writing questions about Mae Jemison to use in our non-chronological reports.

    Reading
This week we are starting a new story - the Sun & the Wind from Aesop’s fables.

We will learn and use some ambitious vocabulary like -
    Buffeted
    Flailing
    Jeered
    Entangled
    frenzy

    Maths

In maths, we are learning about capacity and volume.
We will be describing the volume of liquid using the language full, empty, half full, nearly full and nearly empty.
We will be measuring volume in millilitres and litres using measuring jugs.
Solving word problems based on capacity and volume, looking for key words to help us identify whether we need to add, subtract, multiply or divide.
We will also look at how to read temperature in degrees celsius.

Supporting at home - again this is a brilliant opportunity to do some cooking at home bringing in mass from last week and volume of liquid from this week!
