    Writing
We will write our recounts of our mosque trip. We will aim to use first person, amazing adjectives and noun phrases, adverbs and time connectives.

    Reading
We will not have any whole class reading sessions this week. Teachers will prioritise individual and guided reading tailored to each child’s needs. We will also carry out some reading comprehension assessments.

    Maths

This week each class will be starting a different unit (this will allow us to not need to share the clocks we have between classes).
    Maple class are learning Statistics:
-To read and interpret pictograms where each picture represents one item.
-To read and interpret pictograms where each picture represents 2, 5 or 10 items (using our knowledge of counting in 2s, 5s and 10s).
    -Assessment of unit

    Sycamore class are learning Time:
-To tell the time past the hour to 5 minute intervals on an analogue clock.

-To tell the time to the hour to 5 minute intervals on an analogue clock.

    Supporting at home
Both classes would benefit from having an analogue clock around the home. For Maple Class practising telling o’clock and half past times ahead of our unit to ensure they are secure before we move on would help. For Sycamore reinforcing the times we are learning in class would be helpful.

The language of past (not to be confused with ‘past’ in history!) and to can be confusing for children so please reinforce that they mean…
