    Term 4, Week 3

    Please help your child run through their lines for the play, encourage them to read them slowly and clearly. We will have our first rehearsal in the hall this week.

     

    We have some exciting news for you! We are taking part in Big Walk and Wheel, the UK’s largest inter-school cycling, walking, wheeling and scooting challenge. The challenge runs from 16 – 27 March 2026. It’s free to take part and we would love everyone to be involved.

    What do you need to do?

    Encourage your child(ren) to walk, scoot or cycle to school on as many days as possible during the event.

    English:


    Phonics: Phase 5b of our phonics.

     

    Writing:

    We will be writing instructions about how to make hand puppets. . 


     

    Reading:
    We will be exploring the poem ‘Chocolate Cake’ by Michael Rosen.

    In this unit we will be learning about empathy and attempting to understand and share the feelings of a character, be able to predict a character’s action and take inspiration to compose our own version of the poem. 

     

    Maths   

     

    This week we will learn what  capacity and volume are. We will begin to use the language full, empty, half full, nearly empty/full to describe volume.



     

    Wider Curriculum

     

    Shine PE

     

    PE  - We will be learning dances for our play and will be starting to put the play together.

     

    Music - We will be learning songs for our play! 

     

    Art- begin to make props for our play. 

     

    Science: What types of animals are there? Amphibians, reptiles and fish.

     

    PSHE: To recognise how to respond to adults in a range of situations- adults outside of school. 

     

    Computing: Planning an animation on a story board.
