    Term 4, Week 4

    Please help your child run through their lines for the play, encourage them to read them slowly and clearly. By the end of this week they should know their lines off by heart.

    Wednesday 25th March, 9.30: Year 1 school performance


     

     

    English:


    Phonics: Phase 5b of our phonics.


     

    Whole class reading:

    We will be continuing to explore the poem ‘Chocolate Cake’ by Michael Rosen.

    In this unit we will be learning about empathy and attempting to understand and share the feelings of a character, be able to predict a character’s action and take inspiration to compose our own version of the poem. 


     

    Writing:

    We will be putting together everything we have learned about instruction writing and imperative verbs and writing our instructions on how to make a hand puppet.

    Reading:
    Please continue to read daily with your child at home to support. Please remember to log this in your child’s reading record to support us to know how many times they have read the book at home when we come to read with them.

     

    Maths   

     

    This week we will finishing off our work around capacity and volume.

     

    Wider Curriculum

     

    Shine PE 

     

    PE  - We will be learning dances for our play and will be starting to put the play together.

     

    Music - We will be continuing to practise our play songs.

    DT Prop and scenery making for the play 


     

    Geography - Looking at the difference between hot and cold places on Earth
