English:

Phonics: Phase 5b of our phonics.

Reading:

This week our reading will be based around the text Here We Are by Oliver Jeffers.

We will know that sub-headings are headings given to a section of text under the main heading and we will be able to retrieve multiple items from a text and infer the reasons for characters’ actions.

 

Please continue to read daily with your child at home to support. Please remember to log this in your child’s reading record to support us to know how many times they have read the book at home when we come to read with them.

Writing:

We will be exploring poetry and playing with language.

We will know that a synonym is a word that means the same or similar to another word and what alliteration means. 

 

 

Maths   

This week we will be focusing on place value within 100. We will be partitioning numbers within 100 into tens and ones and also representing numbers to 100 in various ways.
