Reading

We will be continuing to focus on Here We Are by Oliver Jeffers. We will be able to extract the key message from a text and attempt to determine what may have happened before a given outcome. 

 

Writing
We will be focusing on stories with familiar settings. We will continue with our grammar focus of adjectives and nouns and will work on using a range of adjectives to make our sentences more interesting. 

Maths   

This week we are beginning our multiplication topic. We'll practise counting by 2s, 5s, and 10s, learning how to make and add equal groups and record this using repeated addition, like below.

 

Wider Curriculum

 

PE: We are starting a gymnastics unit this term. This week we will be exploring different ways of travelling.

 

Science: This week we will continue to learn about animals and asking ‘What does food tell us about an animal? ‘

 

Geography - Where can I find hot countries? What are they like?

 

Art - We will be learning to make a sketch. 

 

PSHE: We will be focusing on knowing what the rules are in school and why they are important.

 

Music- We will be singing, moving and playing to a steady pulse/ beat.
