Phonics: 

 

Reading

Our next reading block focuses on The Lion Inside by Rachel Bright and John Field.

 

The book teaches the lesson that there is both a lion and a mouse inside us all and even the smallest creature can have the heart of a lion.

 

We will practise reading aloud with fluency and expression, how to explain our reasons for our predictions and how to retrieve information from the text. 

 

Writing
This week we will be finishing off our story based in a familiar setting. We will be reading back through our writing, checking it makes sense and editing any bits that need changing! 

Maths   

 

This week in maths we will be looking at division. We will be looking at how:
-to share objects equally between a number of groups.

-understanding that it is not always possible to share equally and that all groups must have the same amount to be fair.

 

 

Wider Curriculum

 

 PE: We are starting a gymnastics unit this term. This week we will be exploring different balances.

 

Computing - We will be completing our lessons on animation by making our own short animation on the ipads.

 

PSHE -  ‘Similar yet different’- We will begin to recognise ways in which we are both the same as and different from other people.
