    Term 6, Week 4

    English

    Phonics:

    Phase 5c phonics

    Reading

We will be exploring Stories from Aesop and learning about fables and different ways that authors can tell the reader about the characters.

    Writing

This week we will be beginning the second block of ‘Recount from personal experience’.

We will think about chronology, and continue to rehearse orally before recording.

    Maths

This week we will be learning to tell the time to o’clock, half past and quarter past.

Support at home: Children increasingly see digital clocks as opposed to analogue clocks. It would support your child with their understanding if you have an analogue clock in your home or if they has a watch that shows the analogue time. Also talking to your child about what time it is when they do certain things that are part of their routine, e.g. bedtime is 7 o’clock, swimming is at half past 4 or dinner time is half past 5.

    Wider Curriculum

PSHE: To begin to understand the difference between acceptable and unacceptable physical contact.

PE: We will continue with our athletics lessons

Music: Composing a rhythm sequence using pictures
